Our Outdoor First Aid 1 Day course adheres to Band 2 of the Institute of Outdoor Learning – Outdoor First Aid Training Framework.

Outdoor First Aid is a specific discipline in First Aid. Outdoor First Aid presents the rescuer with the unique situation of prolonged care of a patient in a remote area, before definitive medical care can be provided. In such situations the emergency medical services may be difficult to obtain or delayed and there are a number of different skills required compared to the urban setting.

Throughout your Outdoor First Aid 1 Day Course you will be presented with a number of realistic situations involving casualty make up. This will challenge and enhance the skills and knowledge you have acquired during the course.

This course is suitable for those who work outdoors, such as Tree Surgeons, Estate workers, and anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. to name but a few. 

Your instructor will have had real life experience of administering First Aid form serving in the Emergency Services, which we truly believe gives credibility and quality to the training you deserve to receive. Your skills in saving a life are of the utmost importance to us, which is why our training ethos is to create a relaxed and enjoyable training experience in which to learn to your full potential.

Qualification for the Outdoor First Aid 1 Day Course is achieved through on-going assessment for the duration of the course.

Qualification (Valid for 3 years)

1. Emergency First Aid at Work (FAIB Approved)

2. Outdoor First Aid 1 Day (8 Hours)

Course content:

  • Introduction to Outdoor First Aid
  • Action and priorities in an Emergency
  • Basic Life Support (Adult and Child CPR)
  • Administer First Aid for choking
  • Content of First Aid kits
  • Primary and Secondary patient assessment
  • Management of the unconscious patient
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from a Heart Attack & Stroke
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from a Seizure
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from a Minor and major bleed
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from Fractures, sprains and strains
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from Spinal Injuries
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from Head Injuries
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from Shock
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is suffering from Hypothermia and Hyperthermia
