Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course
AED Electrical Medicine can increase surviving a cardiac arrest from 5% to 75%.
270,000 people suffer a heart attack in the UK each year; about a third will die before reaching hospital due to cardiac arrest.
An automated external defibrillator or AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation.
The application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allows the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm; AED’s save lives.
Statistics show that more than 75 000 lives, per year, in the UK could be saved by the immediate availability of an AED for the person in Cardiac arrest.
The AED is incredibly simple to use and the training is minimal, making the difference between life and death.
Our AED Course is tailored to the make and model of your defibrillator and lasts for duration of 3 hours and covers the use and proper care of your equipment. We can also advise you as to which defibrillator is best suited to your needs.
